Mr. Jorge Orozco was born in Valencia on 11 May 1961. When he was 9 years old he started studyng music at the Sociedad Coral El Micalet. It was there that Francisco Nacher introduced him to the guitar. He furthered his studies under Antonio Galindo y Rosa Gil at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquín Rodrigo in Valencia, where he received the Grand Priz upon graduation. In 1985 Mr. Orozco majored in guitar. In the same year he obtained a degree in psychology from the University of Valencia. Some of of the most relevant prizes he has received are: Josefina Robledo, 1985; Unión Musical Española in the XIV edition of the Eduardo lopez Chavarri Competition, 1986; Best Spanish Player in the XXII edition of the International Guitar Competition Francisco Tárrega, 1988. Mr. Orozco has further studied under following masters: Andrés Segovia, Alirio Diaz, José Tomás, Abel Carlevaro, Leo Brouwer, Jorge Cardoso, David Russell, José Miguel Moreno, Roberto Aussel, Roland Dyens and Manuel Barrueco. |
