Roger Wang is a jazz guitar virtuoso boasting amazing technique, fiery improvisations and a keen sense of melody. He kicked off with his version of P. Ramlee's Bunyi Guitar and ended with Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror.
John Goldie a world-class acoustic guitarist, got really intimate with his instrument and left the crowd gawking at how his deft fingers manipulated the guitar.
Using just his guitar, Jorge Orozco depicted the time ticking away, a restless night, guards marching to unlock the cell and the prisoner's thoughts of his life. It was a mesmerising.performance.
Stan Zamfirescu held the crowd in thrall with a flawless rendition of Francisco Tarrega's Capriccio Arabe.
The festival's grand performer was Canadian fingerstyle virtuoso, Don Alder.
He certainly has a wow factor as his performances are aweinspiring. His self compositions of The Wall and Sayonara.Palm brought the magic of a harpguitar to life.
Best of the BEST! Rogerwang and Don Alder wrapped up the final chapter of the 1st Malaysia International Guitar Festival 2007 with a superb finale performance .
The 1st Malaysia Fingerstyle Guitar Competition......
Kok Jia Ming's soulful and artistic rendition of ' Promise' and ' Merry Christmas Mr. lawrence' by Kotaro Oshio made him the 1st Malaysia Fingerstyle Guitar Competition Champion.
Sheikh Hardy followed closely in 2nd placing with a medley of improvised versions of Bouree and Black Opheus.
